Position Overview
QinetiQ is in search of a Space Systems Engineer to assist in the next generation development of our Advanced Fire Control Cell. The chosen candidate will provide technical expertise to the Program Manager, taking on a Systems Engineering role to support design evaluations, testing protocols, and delivering insights to ensure the vendor's satellites meet the architecture requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance and direction on complex space systems integration and testing projects
- Oversee systems engineering processes, including cost, schedule, and performance metrics
- Help define testing objectives, plans, timelines, and supervise test execution, data analysis, and report creation
- Collaborate with various teams and program offices to plan, coordinate, and implement system test strategies and integration activities
- Conduct risk management activities, including identifying and assessing risks and developing mitigation strategies
- Support application product managers and enhance cross-functional team collaboration
- Prepare presentations, reports, and evaluations for diverse audiences, from operational personnel to senior leadership
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics
- At least 8 years of experience in satellite and fire control systems
- TS/SCI clearance
- Expertise in requirements development and tracking
- Strong understanding of satellite and ground system interactions
- Experience in systems engineering
- Able to thrive in a dynamic environment with excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics
- 8 years of experience with satellite fire control systems
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira/Confluence
- Previous experience with DoD and/or IC clients
- Current engagement with space systems
