Job Summary

SAIC is seeking a skilled Satellite Communications Systems Engineer to support an enterprise SATCOM program. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of satellite communications system fundamentals and principles, as well as the ability to perform engineering analyses and document results in support of operational activities and test equipment deployments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design, development, and testing of satellite communications systems, including the integration of waveforms and devices in lab and operational environments.
  • Provide day-to-day test and operational support for SATCOM-related activities, including lab test support, end-to-end device and waveform integration, and performance of spectral surveys to enable frequency selection recommendations.
  • Collaborate with SATCOM system users in the field to provide timely technical support and troubleshooting, and to monitor and characterize system performance.
  • Stay up-to-date with new electronic device technologies and software-defined radio (SDR) developments, and support the integration of these technologies into SATCOM systems.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph.
  • BS in engineering, computer systems, or relevant technical area, and 2+ years of experience as a systems engineer.
  • 2+ years of SATCOM experience.
  • Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS up to 15% of the time.
  • Strong understanding of satellite communications fundamentals and principles.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
