Job Overview

Verdex Construction, LLC is seeking a Senior Construction Project Manager to enhance our Operations division, contributing to our vision of "Building Something Better."

We are in search of a candidate with extensive experience in mid/high-rise structures (10+ stories), concrete methodologies (including tunnel form and PT slabs), zero lot line projects, tower crane operations, and underground utility management.

The primary duty of the Senior Project Manager is to oversee, in partnership with the Project Manager, the effective execution of designated projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring job site safety, maintaining quality standards, and adhering to project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively leads the field and project teams in a collaborative manner.
  • Fosters and sustains positive relationships with clients, project teams, consultants, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Oversees project initiation, site logistics, field coordination, and adherence to project timelines.
  • Evaluates all project documentation for feasibility and accuracy, including shop drawings.
  • Coordinates with inspection agencies and subcontractor evaluations.
  • Ensures the delivery of commercial results by clarifying performance expectations for subcontractors and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Responsible for identifying and communicating compliance concerns related to the project.
  • Delivers on quality expectations by understanding project deliverables and consistently monitoring work quality to minimize rework.
  • Develops project sequencing strategies and manages associated temporary works.
  • Adheres to project timelines and manages workflow efficiently, creating structured work plans with clear task breakdowns.
  • Possesses a comprehensive understanding of the skills and expertise within the team, leveraging relevant professionals to enhance project success.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of safety protocols for all site activities, including pre-planning and monitoring construction conditions.
  • Seeks knowledge of specific construction trades and applies this understanding to problem-solving.
  • Conducts and participates in project staff meetings.
  • Utilizes project management and scheduling software proficiently.
  • Enhances professional and technical knowledge through continuous education and participation in industry networks.
  • Completes necessary corporate training relevant to the position.
  • Contributes to overall success by completing related tasks and demonstrating team-building qualities.

Qualifications:
  • At least 10 years of experience in a Superintendent or similar role within the commercial construction sector.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing projects of comparable size and complexity.
  • Strong knowledge of construction budget management practices.
  • Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal construction regulations.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, self-motivated with strong goal-setting and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including time management, delegation, and multitasking.
  • A collaborative team player with a commitment to quality improvement.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant construction software.
  • Familiarity with Procore and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook).

Education:
  • A four-year degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred.
  • OSHA 10 / OSHA 30 Safety Certification is preferred.
