As a Lead A&P Mechanic, you will be responsible for the effective utilization of available manpower to fulfill task assignments requested by the Hangar/Line Manager or MAC Maintenance Control, ensuring the highest levels of reliability and safety in accordance with all applicable MAC, manufacturer, and FAA policies, procedures, manuals, and regulations.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assigning and monitoring daily task assignments to mechanics.
  • Providing technical assistance to mechanics and working on aircraft as required.
  • Ensuring mechanics maintain current training status on assigned tasks.
  • Performing Quality Control checks on completed work to guarantee the highest levels of reliability and safety.
  • Reporting daily status of aircraft on station and man-hour utilization to the Hangar/Line Manager.
  • Ensuring all paperwork is complete and accurate for all aircraft and components in compliance with MAC standards.
  • Adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining aircraft in accordance with legal, safety, and reliability standards.
  • Performing other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

This position requires heavy physical effort on occasion, adherence to Maintenance Manual Policies and Procedures, and continuous mental and visual attention.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Airframe and Power Plant License.
  • Extensive knowledge of all aircraft mechanical systems functions and interactions.
  • Thorough working knowledge of all current FAA Regulations.
  • Proficient in the use of MM, IPC, SRM, and other manufacturers' repair and troubleshooting documents.
  • Strong understanding of blueprints, work orders, and task cards to determine configuration types and special instructions prior to installation.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of aircraft accessories, components, and other hardware.
  • Ability to estimate hours and materials for project completion.
  • Complete knowledge of aircraft fasteners and applications.
  • Familiarity with all related skill area machines, equipment, and hand tools.
  • Ability to operate aircraft systems and perform engine "run-up" and "trim engines".
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Possession of a valid driver license.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Wear appropriate PPE as designated in each work area (e.g., safety glasses, etc.).
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Responsible for the maintenance performed by Class III ACMP, including providing all maintenance documentation and applicable maintenance references.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
  • General Safety.
  • Quality System Awareness.
  • Successful completion of the basic electrical and electronic class administered by MAC.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Work is performed in a shop environment on a regular basis, with occasional travel to line stations. You may be exposed to various elements, but none to the extent of being disagreeable.
