About the Role

Splunk is seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our Cloud Traffic Engineering team. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the availability, performance, efficiency, and security of our Cloud SaaS platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deploy software to improve the reliability and scalability of our Cloud services.
  • Work with cloud providers to integrate their networking products into our ecosystem.
  • Build a control plane to scale and secure Kubernetes deployments on various cloud computing platforms.
  • Commit to automation and master new technologies to help automate routine tasks and free up time for innovation.
  • Work on and debug distributed systems like CDNs, Kubernetes, databases, traffic, and data replication.
  • Use continuous delivery, testing, and security standard methodologies.
  • Operational excellence and make decisions based on numbers rather than assumptions.
Requirements
  • Experience deploying production cloud networking and infrastructure solutions while adhering to industry-standard DevOps principles.
  • Experience handling SaaS and/or On-prem applications for a large customer base.
  • Experience with one or more of the public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Experience coding with Python/Go.
  • Experience with CICD (Gitlab, Jenkins, and others) and automation (Terraform or equivalent) technologies and tools.
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers on the team, provide technical direction, perform design/code reviews, and champion engineering best practices.
