Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Office Specialist 2 to join our team at the Oregon State Police in Salem, Oregon. This is a Full-Time, Limited Duration position that will end on or before 06/30/2025, with the possibility of extension or early termination based on funding.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting, assessing, and making accurate determinations for criminal history records maintenance. This includes submitting documents for entry, modification, and/or deletion of records to ensure complete and accurate criminal history information is available through the Law Enforcement Data System (LEDS) for easy retrieval by other criminal justice and regulatory agencies.

The Office Specialist 2 will also be responsible for verifying and checking accuracy of documents, making sound judgments and decisions in the application and explanation of laws and rules, policies, and procedures, and operating office equipment such as computer terminals or photocopiers.

Requirements:
  • Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents;
  • An associate degree in any field;
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Skills:
  • Ability to communicate orally with agency staff, personnel in other agencies, the general public, and with equipment service technicians;
  • Proficient in processing documents, verifying, and checking accuracy;
  • Proven ability to make sound judgments and decisions in the application and explanation of laws and rules, policies, and procedures;
  • Ability to operate office equipment such as computer terminals or photocopiers;
  • Knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Office productivity applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
