NDT Level II - Ultrasonic Inspector

At Blue Origin, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As an NDT Level II - Ultrasonic Inspector, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and quality of our spaceflight systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform inspections using immersion, contact, and phased array ultrasonic methods
  • Establish and maintain techniques to properly examine hardware, ensuring adherence to all safety and specification requirements
  • Interpret inspection results and apply acceptance criteria identified on drawing or shop work order
  • Perform all necessary daily, weekly, monthly process control checks
  • Documentation and organization of inspection results
  • Interface/communicate with employees to describe inspection results
  • May provide guidance to other inspectors
Qualifications:
  • 2 years of experience as a certified Level 2 in immersion and/or phased array ultrasonic (UT)
  • Experience performing ultrasonic (UT) thickness measurements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to support Monday – Thursday, 1st Shift with occasional overtime
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Desired:
  • Experience in ultrasonic inspection of composites
  • Level 2 or substantive experience in eddy current (ET)
  • Level 2 or substantive experience in radiography (RT)
  • Experience in low rate high mix production environment, preferably in aerospace
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including welding, additive manufacturing, forging, casting, and composites fabrication
