About the Job

International Marine and Industrial Applicators is seeking a highly skilled NDT Ultrasonic Inspector Level II to join our team. As a key member of our inspection team, you will be responsible for performing VT, UT, MT, and PT inspections on surface ship and submarine structures.

Responsibilities
  • Perform physical inspections of completed welds and materials on board surface ships and submarines
  • Work to approved company inspection procedures
  • Assist with reviews and writing procedures/standards for VT, MT, PT, and UT processes
  • Provide on-the-job training for trainees and LI/LII inspectors
  • Administer examinations to NDT personnel when designated by a LIII NDT Examiner
  • Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards
  • Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities
  • Follow all company rules and policies
  • Provide a high level of attention to detail and focus on the given task
  • Follow all safety rules and quality standards
  • Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency
  • Report any unsafe work conditions or practices to the supervisor
Qualifications
  • At a minimum, qualified Level II inspector for VT and UT Shear Wave IAW NAVSEA requirements in Tech Pub 271
  • Experience with SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW welding highly preferred
  • Knowledge of welding joint design and joint fit-up requirements
  • Ability to follow instructions given both verbally and in written form
  • Willingness to learn and work to the best of their abilities and have a dependable work ethic
  • Ability to read and interpret documents furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form, including but not limited to safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, quality manuals, and procedure manuals
  • Familiarity with the metric system
  • Ability to stand continuously for long periods of time
  • Willing to work 40+ hours a week
  • Pass substance abuse testing
Physical Requirements

Regularly required to walk; frequently required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, or crawl at various heights and in confined spaces; occasionally required to sit; required to reach with hands and arms, use hands to feel, grip, or handle; regularly required to safely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; required use of vision to see up close, distance, and peripherally, as well as depth perception and ability to adjust focus in low light conditions. May be required to wear a respirator to safely perform assigned tasks.

Mental Requirements

Must be able to carry out simple to complex instructions in a safe and efficient manner.
