Job Summary

Blue Origin is seeking a highly skilled Non-Destructive Test Inspector II - Penetrant to join our team. As a key member of our inspection team, you will be responsible for performing non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, including Penetrant Testing, to ensure the quality and integrity of our spaceflight systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Penetrant Testing on various spaceflight systems to detect defects and ensure quality.
  • Establish and maintain techniques for properly examining hardware, adhering to safety and specification requirements.
  • Interpret inspection results and apply acceptance criteria identified on drawings or shop work orders.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly process control checks.
  • Document and organize inspection results.
  • Interface with engineers and managers to discuss inspection results.
  • Hold and maintain Level 2 certification in Penetrant Inspection.
  • Support occasional overtime.
Requirements
  • Level 2 experience in Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection method.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to work Monday - Thursday, 3 pm to 1:30 am shift with occasional overtime.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in low-rate, high-mix production environments, preferably in aerospace.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including welding, additive manufacturing, forgings, castings, and composites fabrication.
  • Experience in other inspection methods, including Eddy Current, Digital Radiography, Computed Tomography, or Ultrasonic.
