NDT Level II- Ultrasonic Specialist

At Blue Origin, we're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. We're seeking a highly skilled NDT Level II- Ultrasonic specialist to join our diverse team of problem solvers.
Responsibilities:- Perform inspections using immersion, contact, and phased array ultrasonic methods
- Establish and maintain techniques to properly examine hardware, ensuring adherence to all safety and specification requirements
- Interpret inspection results and apply acceptance criteria identified on drawing or shop work order
- Perform all necessary daily, weekly, monthly process control checks
- Document and organize inspection results
- Interface/communicate with employees to describe inspection results
- May provide guidance to other inspectors
- 2 years of experience as a certified Level 2 in immersion and/or phased array ultrasonic (UT)
- Experience performing ultrasonic (UT) thickness measurements
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to support Monday – Thursday, 1st Shift with occasional overtime
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Experience in ultrasonic inspection of composites
- Level 2 or substantive experience in eddy current (ET)
- Level 2 or substantive experience in radiography (RT)
- Experience in low rate high mix production environment, preferably in aerospace
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including welding, additive manufacturing, forging, casting, and composites fabrication
