  • Power Distribution and Electrical System Designs tailored for Process and Industrial Facilities
  • Specifications and Data Sheets for equipment such as Transformers, Switchgear, Motors, and UPS systems
  • Vendor Inquiries, Bid Evaluations, and Shop Drawing Reviews
  • Power System Analysis and Relay Coordination
  • Area Classification and Compliance with Electrical Codes
  • Estimates for Construction Labor and Material Costs, along with Project Scheduling
  • Programming and Set Points for VFDs and Relay Protection, along with Field Support

The Lead Electrical Design Engineer is tasked with ensuring the quality and timely delivery of engineering designs and reports. This role requires effective communication with clients, site visits, and physical activities such as walking, stooping, kneeling, and climbing.

Some travel to client locations and other Nexus offices is expected.



Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in designing electrical distribution and control systems, along with power system calculations
  • Experience in High Voltage Substation Design (up to 345 kV) is preferred
  • Familiarity with subsurface and overhead transmission line design is advantageous
  • Experience in leading projects, including the development of engineering schedules, budgets, and forecasts
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project; knowledge of AutoCAD and 3-D CAD is a plus
  • Familiarity with electrical design tools and calculations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work collaboratively in teams and maintain a positive client image
Education and Certification Requirements:

A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is required; an advanced degree is a plus. FE certification is desired, and PE certification is an advantage.

Position Type and Work Hours:

This is a full-time position with workdays from Monday to Friday. Occasionally, evening and weekend work may be necessary based on job demands.
