The Electrical Systems Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for providing technical and maintenance support for the electrical power distribution systems, water treatment facilities, and powerhouse electrical operations, with a strong emphasis on safety and compliance with environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee and ensure the safety of maintenance personnel, conducting engineering analyses and failure investigations.
• Lead system enhancement projects and deliver technical assistance to maintenance teams.
• Ensure the safe and efficient operation of electrical distribution systems, including substations, circuit breakers, and transformers.

Electrical Distribution System Components:
• Substations, circuit breakers, motor starters, crane power rectifiers, transformers, generators, and both underground and overhead cabling.
• Management of the plant SCADA system, substation batteries, and protective relays, with voltages reaching up to 138 kV.

Water Treatment and Powerhouse Electrical Systems:
• Responsible for Motor Control Centers, motors, transformers, and lighting systems.

• Collaborate with engineering firms, utility providers, and contractors to ensure seamless operations.
• Coordinate medium voltage switching in conjunction with plant operations, drafting switching procedures and assisting during outages.

• Maintain accurate equipment documentation and drawings.
• Provide training and mentorship to staff as needed, exemplifying best practices in maintenance and engineering.

• Understand capital expenditure priorities and work with maintenance and operations teams to develop ready-to-execute projects.
• Offer specialized guidance to resolve operational and functional challenges.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
• A minimum of 2 years of electrical experience in heavy industry, military, or utility sectors.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with database management.
• A commitment to learning site-specific software applications.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
• At least 3 years of electrical experience in heavy industrial, military, or utility environments.
• Previous experience in steel manufacturing.
• High voltage experience is a plus.
• At least 1 year of project management experience.
