The AWS Operations team is on the lookout for a talented Software Engineer II to become a vital part of our innovative cloud-based operations.

In this role, you will work alongside skilled engineers to design, develop, and implement systems and services that cater to our customers' needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect, implement, test, and launch highly scalable distributed systems and services.
  • Break down intricate challenges into simple, manageable solutions while considering system interdependencies and constraints.
  • Share insights on effective performance, scalability, architecture, and engineering methodologies.
  • Produce clear, maintainable, and well-documented code that adheres to coding standards and best practices.
  • Engage in code reviews, manage source control, oversee build processes, and handle release management and operations.
  • Collaborate closely across teams and disciplines to deliver top-notch products and services.
Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship).
  • 2+ years of experience in design or architecture of new and existing systems, focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scalability (non-internship).
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of comprehensive software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Experience in developing large-scale distributed systems and cloud services.

Our compensation reflects the labor costs across various US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market.

Compensation is influenced by several factors, including market location, and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Amazon is a total compensation company. Depending on the position offered, equity, sign-on bonuses, and other forms of compensation may be included as part of a total compensation package, alongside a comprehensive range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
