OVERVIEW

The Environmental Sustainability Coordinator (ESC) will collaborate with the Facilities and Operations team to pinpoint avenues for minimizing carbon footprints, conserving resources, and fostering eco-friendly practices across the organization. Responsibilities may encompass initiatives such as waste reduction, energy conservation, promoting recycling, and engaging stakeholders to advance sustainability objectives. The ESC will be tasked with monitoring and reporting on the organization's sustainability metrics and ensuring adherence to applicable environmental regulations. The role requires flexibility in scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate high-profile events.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Formulating actionable strategies aligned with the organization's sustainability goals.
  • Coordinating with both internal and external stakeholders to effectively implement project plans.
  • Gathering, analyzing, and maintaining data from diverse sources for Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions reporting and other sustainability metrics.
  • Conducting research and preparing comprehensive reports and presentations that outline findings, recommendations, and the overall environmental impact of decisions.
  • Assisting in the management of sustainability programs and initiatives through research, communication with partners, and operational contributions as needed.
  • Supporting outreach initiatives to internal and external partners regarding sustainability information, including waste reduction and GHG emission reduction.
  • Designing and delivering sustainability training workshops for staff members.
  • Taking on additional projects as they arise.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Environmental Science, Sustainability, Project Management). Relevant experience in sustainability may be considered in lieu of a degree on a year-for-year basis.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a related sustainability role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of sustainability principles, waste management techniques, energy efficiency practices, and GHG reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in collecting and analyzing substantial data sets, identifying trends, and producing reports and visual representations.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Self-motivated with the capacity to prioritize and manage multiple ongoing projects.
