Overview:

The Renaissance Hotel Orlando Airport is seeking a dedicated Accounting Generalist. This role encompasses various responsibilities within the accounting department, including but not limited to: Accounts Payable, General Cashier duties, and additional tasks as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee direct billing processes, conduct credit checks for clients, and manage guest billing.
  • Handle collections while ensuring compliance with cash handling policies and procedures, maintaining high standards of performance and accuracy.
  • Prepare invoices for timely payments and ensure all bills are settled accurately.
  • Provide exceptional guest service by creating a welcoming environment, greeting guests, and maintaining high standards of service.
  • Exhibit professionalism and hospitality, ensuring all guest interactions are conducted ethically and legally.
  • Implement safety and security protocols to maintain a secure environment for both guests and associates.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with all associates to promote a collaborative workplace.

Essential Functions:

  • Verify all invoices for proper documentation, ensuring compliance with purchase orders or signature approvals.
  • Code invoices for payment and input them into the Accounts Payable system.
  • Audit and consolidate deposits, prepare bank deposit slips, and manage petty cash funds.
  • Timely preparation of expense checks and manual check requests for signatures.
  • Monitor the purchase order system and reconcile invoices with purchase orders.
  • Address vendor inquiries and maintain organized filing of invoices.
  • Review accounts payable aging reports and ensure checks are reviewed for signatures and correct addresses prior to mailing.
  • Reconcile vendor statements monthly and collaborate closely with department heads.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using a 10-key calculator and possess a solid understanding of sales tax laws.

Qualifications:

A college degree is preferred; however, a High School Diploma combined with 2-3 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
