This position is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and negotiating offers as necessary, ensuring alignment with the strategic goals and objectives of Houston Methodist. Strategic Consulting is a key component of this role, providing expert advice on recruitment processes and compliance within the hiring landscape.

The Healthcare Talent Acquisition Specialist also serves as a mentor to team members, acting as a subject matter expert in recruitment practices, which promotes adherence to best practices for optimal safety, quality outcomes, and superior customer service.


Key Responsibilities

Consultation and Strategy Development
Engages with senior management and department chairs to clarify job specifications and candidate profiles, gaining insights into their operational needs. This involves identifying effective recruitment strategies and offering workforce planning services to attract talented and diverse candidates.

Collaborates with departmental clients to assess both immediate and long-term staffing requirements, taking into account succession planning, hiring forecasts, and turnover rates.

Candidate Screening and Experience Management
Conducts thorough screenings and interviews for executive-level and physician candidates using advanced assessment techniques. Ensures a positive experience for both applicants and hiring managers throughout the recruitment process, including timely communication regarding application status and interview feedback.

Ensures that all non-selected candidates receive appropriate communication, fostering a respectful and professional hiring environment.


Recruitment and Onboarding

Innovative Recruitment Strategies
Utilizes a variety of creative recruitment technologies and social media platforms to attract both passive and active candidates, while emphasizing principles of cultural diversity and inclusion.

Oversees all stages of recruitment for physicians, from assessment to selection, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience in collaboration with the HR team. Maintains consistent communication with applicants and hiring managers throughout the process.


Quality and Compliance

Adherence to Standards
Practices responsible hiring by ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations. Manages candidate information within the applicant tracking system, adhering to Houston Methodist's hiring protocols.

Regularly reviews key performance indicators and collaborates with management and HR to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives in recruitment practices.


Financial Management

Resource Allocation
