Position Overview:


Under the supervision of the Marketing Manager, support the Trailer Division in the domains of forecasting and capacity management.

Additionally, aid in the formulation of the annual operational strategy and its subsequent updates for the Division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop robust relationships with essential clients to facilitate open communication for collecting market trend data, trailer production statistics, line rate information, etc.
  • Collaborate closely with Trailer Account Managers, Customers, and the OEM Inside Sales Manager to oversee Hendrickson's blanket program.
  • Track weekly reserve quantities and fulfillment rates per customer.
  • Engage with Sales/Customers to analyze observable trends and propose adjustments to blanket reserves as necessary.
  • Revise blanket orders as needed, ensuring that the OEM Inside Sales Manager, Trailer Account Specialist, and Plants are kept informed.
  • Disseminate a weekly Blanket Summary report.
  • In partnership with the Marketing Manager, contribute to the creation of the annual operating plan (AOP) by supplying projected unit sales by product family and customer.
  • Examine monthly sales history by product family and customer to identify any variances that may necessitate future forecast adjustments, enabling a quicker response time on the 3+9, 6+6, and 8+4 forecasts throughout the year.
  • This approach employs a bottom-up methodology, emphasizing blanket program data.
  • Work in conjunction with Program Managers to comprehend any shifts in product family composition or dressed content, ensuring this information is reflected in the AOP.
  • Recognize and monitor the seasonal trends of Trailer Division sales and incorporate this understanding into the AOP.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to analyze market and industry trends that could impact year-over-year unit sales and integrate this data into the AOP.
  • Align average selling price (ASP) with the Financial Analyst by product family and customer for AOP utilization.
  • Ensure that the projected sales revenue of the AOP aligns with Division expectations.
  • Confirm that the forecasted unit sales translate into an accurate estimate of trailer production.
  • Lead a cross-functional Capacity Planning Team, including representatives from Division Operations and Materials, as well as Plant Materials Managers and Plant Managers.
  • Offer recommendations for daily capacity needs by product line and mix within each manufacturing facility, and publish a bi-weekly capacity/materials planning tool.
  • Monitor lead times and provide capacity recommendations accordingly.
  • Keep seasonal trends in mind to facilitate proactive manpower planning.
  • When necessary, collaborate with Operations, Outside Sales, and Inside Sales on customer transfer activities between plants. Assist in balancing capacity across manufacturing facilities.
  • Recommend customers for relocation based on shipping history, product specifications, volume projections, and distance from facilities.
  • Provide general marketing assistance to the Marketing Manager on special initiatives.
  • Conduct sales and marketing analysis; prepare PowerPoint presentations; manage Excel spreadsheets.
Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, supply chain management, or business is required. An MBA is preferred.
Experience Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of experience in industrial marketing or a related field, encompassing some or all of the following:
  • Sales/marketing management
  • Sales/marketing data analysis
  • Marketing research
  • Proficiency in a Windows environment.
Strong Excel skills are essential.

Moderate travel may be required.
