Responsibilities

The Cardiac Device Specialist provides technical, clinical and related services in the area of Electrophysiology and Cardiology relative to Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices (CIED's) in the ambulatory and inpatient setting. The Cardiac Device Specialist must possess the ability to setup, operate, and troubleshoot various CIED programmers and be proficient in deciphering complex Cardiac Device data elements. In collaboration with the Electrophysiology and Cardiology Team, this role serves to provide quality patient care for accurate CIED management, arrhythmia interpretation and device utilization for noninvasive arrhythmia termination protocols. Management and interpretation of CIED remote data and comprehensive knowledge of the necessary navigation of remote sites is required. The candidate must demonstrate global Cardiac Device knowledge to Physicians and have the capacity to communicate various Cardiac Device applications to patients in a concise manner. This position functions in a highly specialized and unique area and requires a high level of clinical acumen and independence.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:
. A certificate of completion from an approved cardiac device technical school that provides a formal curriculum of education and training in cardiac pacing, defibrillation, cardiac resynchronization therapy and electrophysiology or a minimum of 2 years' experience in the field of cardiac pacing or electrophysiology may be substituted for the formal education training program

. Competent in rhythm interpretation . BLS

PREFERRED:
. Graduate from a recognized institution of Cardiac Device Technology and/or Cardiac Electrophysiology

. Completion of a Bachelor's Program in Nursing, Engineering or related field
