Position Overview

Canton Drop Forge is seeking a skilled Mechanical CAD Specialist to enhance our design team.

The Mechanical CAD Specialist will engage in custom steel forging projects within the transportation and equipment sectors. This role involves collaboration with engineers, sales representatives, management, and production staff to develop sophisticated engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed models and technical drawings using CAD software.
  • Coordinate with production teams for testing and evaluations.
  • Address and resolve issues with clients and suppliers.
  • Ensure the maintenance of precise data records.
  • Participate in product assessment meetings.
  • Design manufacturing processes and tools.
  • Foster a safety-oriented workplace culture.
  • Adhere to industry regulations and standards.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of AS, ISO, and relevant industry standards.
  • Excellent organizational capabilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capacity to work autonomously and guide team members.
  • Professional demeanor and effective communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office.
  • Able to collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Willingness to adapt work hours and travel occasionally.

Physical Demands:

  • Balance of design work and hands-on involvement in production settings.
  • Ability to work in elevated temperature environments.
  • Frequent movement, including walking and bending.

Education & Experience:

  • 1-2 years of experience in CAD design.
  • Familiarity with Pro E CAD or similar 3D modeling tools.
  • Preferred: Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
