About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Customer Account Specialist to join our Customer Service team at Michelman. As a key member of our global team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring timely and accurate order processing, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service and Order Management: Provide professional and friendly customer service, manage customer orders from entry to shipment, and ensure accurate and timely delivery.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with Planning, Production, and Shipping departments to ensure seamless order processing and delivery.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all domestic and international shipments and associated documents comply with relevant regulations for safety, transportation, customs, and commerce.
  • Problem-Solving and Escalation: Proactively identify and resolve customer order issues, track and expedite orders, and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Communication and Relationship-Building: Develop effective working relationships with Sales, Planning, and other departments to proactively respond to customer needs and maintain customer satisfaction.

  • Excellent Communication and Problem-Solving Skills: Develop and maintain effective communication with customers, internal stakeholders, and external partners to resolve issues and drive business success.
  • Knowledge of International Shipping and Logistics: Possess a strong understanding of INCO terms, Haz Mat requirements, and import/export regulations.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with experience in ERP systems, Oracle/JDE, and Salesforce (SFDC) a plus.
Education and Experience
  • Education: High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • Experience: Two or more years of customer service/inside sales or customer-facing experience required; two or more years of international/domestic shipping and logistics experience strongly preferred.
