About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Stone Brewing Holdings LLC. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for the consistent planning, production, preparation, and prompt delivery of high-quality food and beverages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of kitchen staff, ensuring excellent service and quality standards are met.
  • Oversee the preparation of a variety of menu items, including meats, seafood, poultry, and vegetables, using a range of kitchen equipment.
  • Supervise shifts, effectively communicating with other managers, kitchen staff, and front-of-house team members to ensure seamless service.
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training of new kitchen staff.
  • Conduct regular performance feedback and coaching to ensure team members are meeting expectations.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness in the kitchen.
  • Collaborate with the Kitchen Manager to ensure efficient inventory management, ordering, and requisitioning of food products and supplies.
  • Monitor and control labor costs, food costs, and inventory levels to minimize waste and shrinkage.
  • Develop and maintain a positive and motivational work environment, promoting open communication and teamwork.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with a culinary degree or equivalent preferred.
  • At least 4 years of experience as a Sous Chef in a food service operation with sales in excess of $4M, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Must possess a Servsafe and/or San Diego County Food Handlers Manager Card.
  • Occasional travel to events and other locations may be required.
