We invite applications from individuals interested in joining our Certified Nursing Assistant Training program.

We cover the costs of the training classes while providing compensation as you learn. Our benefits package includes Health, Vision, Dental, and Paid Time Off (PTO).

All associates, whether part-time or full-time, will accrue PTO from their start date and can utilize it after completing a 90-day probationary period. Accrual is based on all hours worked, including regular and overtime hours. PTO can be used for vacation, sick leave, personal days, or holidays, and you can cash out up to 40 hours per paycheck.

Position Summary

The Patient Care Assistant Trainee is tasked with delivering routine daily nursing care to assigned patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse, ensuring patient safety and striving to maintain the highest possible physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each patient in accordance with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards set by Life Care.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Currently enrolled in a State-approved CNA program, eligible to work for a single consecutive period of four (4) months. Upon completion of this period, the trainee must fulfill the certification requirements to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
  • CPR certification is required upon hire or must be obtained during orientation. CPR certification must remain valid throughout employment.

Job Requirements
  • Exhibit patience, tact, a cheerful demeanor, and enthusiasm, along with a willingness to manage challenging patients.
  • Make independent decisions when necessary.
  • Knowledgeable about nursing practices and procedures, as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing functions in a post-acute care environment.
  • Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the nursing department.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all competency areas, including but not limited to: patient rights, safety, and sanitation.
  • Maintain professional relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.
  • Understand and adhere to company policies, including those regarding harassment and compliance.
  • Exhibit integrity and professionalism by following Life Care's Code of Conduct and completing mandatory compliance training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
  • Support patients with bathing, grooming, feeding, and toileting under the guidance of a licensed nurse.
  • Accurately document and chart patient care activities.
  • Respond promptly to call lights.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patients.
  • Assist in the safe evacuation of patients.
  • Demonstrate reliable attendance.
  • Utilize reasoning skills and good judgment in all situations.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate productively within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Engage in physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and moving intermittently during working hours.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand the English language proficiently.
  • Lift and carry weights of up to 35 lbs. and push/pull similar weights.
