The Strategic Unified Management for Multidisciplinary Initiatives Team (SUMMIT) is seeking a Project Associate to provide administrative support across a diverse portfolio of research centers under the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation (OVPRI).

Key Responsibilities

As a member of the SUMMIT team, each Project Associate will manage a portfolio of research centers, projects, and initiatives. While Program Managers set the overall strategy and objectives, Project Associates play a vital role in contributing insights and supporting the definition of goals and scope. The responsibilities include:

  • Project Planning and Development: Engage in the formulation and execution of project plans, oversee daily operations, collaborate with communication and finance teams, and assess processes for enhancements.
  • Financial Management: Build relationships for financial transactions, oversee budgets and expenditures, prepare stakeholder reports, and suggest operational adjustments based on financial insights.
  • Communication Strategies: Assist in developing project communication strategies, ensure effective stakeholder communication, gather and organize data for communication needs, and contribute to website content creation.
  • Reporting Duties: Prepare and submit reports on impact and progress, ensure accurate data collection and reporting, and monitor project timelines to promptly address any challenges.
  • Event Coordination: Assist in the planning, organization, and execution of various project-related events, including meetings, committees, lecture series, conferences, retreats, and workshops.
  • Travel Requirements: Occasional travel for events and meetings may be necessary.

When assessing candidates, we will look for evidence of the following:

  • A Bachelor’s degree with 2-4 years of experience in administrative management or project management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
