Cardiovascular and Thoracic Care Unit Registered Nurse

As a Registered Nurse in the Cardiovascular and Thoracic Care Unit at John Muir Health, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care to individuals requiring cardio-thoracic surgery, esophageal surgery, and cardiovascular interventional procedures. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of healthcare professionals who are dedicated to providing exceptional patient outcomes and experiences.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide competent care for patients requiring cardioversion, thoracentesis, temporary pacing, and moderate sedation.
- Manage IV medicated drips requiring minimal titration, including select vasoactive and antiarrhythmic agents.
- Manage stable DKA patients.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure seamless patient care.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices and evidence-based care.
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
- 6 Months- Nursing- Acute Care experience.
- 2000 hours direct bedside care in a step-down or intermediate care unit as a Registered Nurse in the last 3 years – Core Requirement.
- RN Registered Nursing - California Board of Nursing.
- BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association.
- ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association.
- Approved Cardiac Rhythm Test.
- NIHSS National Institute of Health Stroke Scale.
- Demonstrated competency in caring for pre-and post-cardio-thoracic surgery, esophageal surgery, and cardiovascular interventional procedural patients.
This role is a full-time position working 12-hour shifts, with a scheduled weekly hours of 36. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, requiring strong communication and teamwork skills.
