POSITION SUMMARY: As a vital member of the production workforce, the Production Support Specialist plays a crucial role in the daily operations of processing and packaging machinery utilized in the creation of premium food products within a dynamic production setting. Team members are actively engaged in ensuring Safety, Quality, and Productivity. Effective communication and teamwork skills are essential for success in this role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborates within workgroups and oversees processes in a designated area of responsibility.
- Handles loading and unloading of materials from machinery and conveyor systems.
- Feeds raw materials into production equipment.
- Inspects and monitors products to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Operates machinery while assessing product or packaging quality.
- Transfers finished goods, raw materials, tools, or equipment between storage and operational areas using manual or powered lift trucks.
- Engages in communication with supervisors and other leaders regarding safety, quality, and operational matters.
- Removes products, machine attachments, or waste materials from equipment as instructed.
- Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of assigned work areas.
- Ensures the health and safety of oneself and colleagues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- This is an entry-level role; prior manufacturing experience is not necessary.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Capability to comprehend and convey instructions in English.
- Willingness to learn and adhere to company standards, including safety practices and operational procedures.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and overtime as required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Employees may be exposed to temperatures exceeding 100 degrees for extended periods, particularly during summer months. Most roles necessitate standing, repetitive movements, bending, and twisting, along with manual handling of objects; exposure to sustained noise levels and various food allergens; and potential hazards such as machinery and slippery surfaces. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required.
- Must be able to work in an environment that includes allergens such as nuts, peanuts, and grains.
- Physical capabilities include standing for long durations, climbing, reaching, walking, lifting, grasping, feeling, bending, and twisting.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks efficiently and accurately is essential.
- Availability for all shifts, including nights, weekends, and some holidays, with occasional overtime as necessary.
