About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Documentation Manager to join our Amazon Software Development team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive content strategy that supports the success of our software engineering community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a content strategy that aligns with the needs of our software engineering teams.
  • Lead a team of technical writers and editors to create high-quality documentation that meets the needs of our developers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and meets the needs of our users.
  • Identify and prioritize areas for improvement in our documentation and develop plans to address these gaps.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that documentation meets their needs and expectations.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical writing or content management role.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing content strategies that support software development teams.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Experience with web services and object-oriented programming languages is a plus.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $124,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $215,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors, including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
