Position Title: Survey Crew Chief

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and committed professional to take on the role of Survey Crew Chief. This position entails overseeing the daily operations of the survey team, coordinating effectively with field coordinators, project managers, and office personnel. You will be responsible for leading all survey crew members and may operate independently as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage survey crew activities.
  • Ensure the accurate collection and processing of survey data.
  • Maintain and charge survey instruments, including data collectors.
  • Assist in transporting survey equipment and supplies to various locations.
  • Clear any obstructions that may hinder survey lines of sight.
  • Stay updated with the latest technological advancements in surveying equipment.

Required Skills:

Hard Skills:

  • At least 7 years of experience in crew management using robotic total stations and GPS technology.
  • Proficient in the use of Trimble or similar surveying tools (GPS, Robotics, Total Stations, Levels, and Data Collectors).
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience with Total Station and MicroStation is a plus.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong willingness to learn and adhere to instructions.
  • Focus on maintaining high data quality standards.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations accurately.
  • Dependable and punctual in all work-related activities.

Work Environment:

This role requires working outdoors in various weather conditions, reporting directly to the Party Chief or Field Coordinator. A standard workweek consists of 40 hours, with compensation provided even during inclement weather when you may assist with office tasks and CAD learning.
