We are seeking a skilled Utility Designator (Locator) / SUE Technician to join our dedicated SUE Services Division. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in utility designation, test hole operations, and traffic management, particularly within the Maryland, DC, Virginia, or Delaware regions.
Key Responsibilities:- Utilize various utility locating technologies (e.g., Radio Detection, Metrotech, GPR).
- Conduct comprehensive Utility Test Hole operations (QL-A).
- Accurately designate and locate diverse utility types (QL-B).
- Support all SUE levels as necessary (QL – C and D).
- Create and maintain utility sketches, field reports, and relevant documentation.
- Interpret digital utility data, civil drawings, utility plans, as-builts, and blueprints.
- Participate in out-of-town projects as required.
- Utilize MS Office products and communicate effectively via email.
- Safely navigate manholes, valve boxes, and underground vaults.
- Collaborate with surveyors as needed.
- Implement Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) as necessary on projects.
- Operate a vehicle responsibly.
- At least 5 years of experience in the SUE/Miss Utility field within the Metropolitan DC/Baltimore Area.
- Proficient in electromagnetic induction detection equipment and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Reliability, punctuality, and consistent attendance are essential.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
- Basic computer and technical skills.
- Hourly Wage: $19 to $28 (based on experience).
