Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Customer Service Representative/Scheduler Endocrinology and Rheumatology Specialist to join our team at Sentara. As a key member of our Clinical Access Centralized Scheduling Department, you will be responsible for handling incoming calls and providing exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handle incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries regarding eligibility, claims, and payment issues.
  • Schedule appointments and procedures for patients in a computerized scheduling system.
  • Provide quality service and customer satisfaction through effective communication and education.
  • Responsible for all areas of customer service as it pertains to research and resolution of telephone inquiries.
  • Accountable for accurately and completely obtaining required information in the scheduling process.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of customer service experience, preferably in a hospital or physician's office setting.
  • Experience with medical insurance and Epic EMR system preferred.
  • Data entry skills and ability to work in a high-volume call center environment.
  • Ability to travel to onsite orientation locations for the first 8-9 weeks.
