Job Overview


The Senior Financial Analyst role encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities, including aiding in financial forecasting and budgeting activities, conducting comprehensive analyses of product lines and business unit (BU) performance, creating standardized reporting and procedures, and delivering critical insights to senior management.

The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in finance and accounting, with a strong preference for experience in the industrial manufacturing sector and familiarity with internal financial systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Examine Income Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Statements to derive business insights and trends.
  • Manage monthly and quarterly forecasts, as well as the Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
  • Oversee the monthly closing process for the BU, ensuring timely and accurate actual results, while collaborating with relevant team members as necessary.
  • Update standard reporting packages, including Monthly Financial Review, Monthly Business Review, Major Initiatives, and Executive Review on a monthly basis.
  • Conduct variance analysis for the BU, segmented by product line, factory, and other business dimensions.
  • Assist the BU team with in-depth analyses on product line trends and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with factory leadership to support reporting and strategic project requirements.
  • Partner with BU functional leaders on key initiatives, including Commercial, Product Management, Operations, Supply Chain, and IT.
  • Develop and automate new standardized reporting for essential financial metrics and management reporting needs.
  • Contribute to significant strategic projects, presenting progress and key accomplishments to senior leadership.
  • Analyze product line profitability, including pricing, cost of sales, SG&A, and other vital financial performance indicators.
  • Review capital expenditure requests and recommend deployment decisions based on Return on Invested Capital (ROIC) and timeline to value creation.
  • Create and maintain financial models to assess the impact of macroeconomic factors on product lines.
  • Support the development and implementation of annual functional budgets.
  • Evaluate existing processes and continuously seek improvements in efficiency and productivity through automation and other enhancements.
  • Utilize 80/20 principles to identify key opportunities for long-term strategic growth and profitability across various product groups.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Exceptional analytical skills with the capability to swiftly collect, organize, analyze, and comprehend information with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in handling large datasets and/or databases for analysis and visual data creation.
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing or a solid understanding of manufacturing concepts and processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and learn independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Competence in presenting financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong grasp of financial statements.
  • Familiarity with accounting systems, processes, procedures, and internal controls.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • CPA designation preferred.
