Job Overview

The Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a Relocation Design Specialist to join our Campus Development Office. This role operates on a 9x80 schedule, providing every other Friday off, and is based at our Research and Education Campus. The primary responsibility is to create effective office and laboratory space layouts for employee relocations and modifications across various campuses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess spatial requirements by collaborating with employees, managers, and senior leadership to gather necessary information for space requests, while coordinating with other departments.
  • Identify requirements for new office configurations, ensuring compliance with INL Space Standards, ADA, and safety regulations.
  • Produce designs, schematics, cost estimates, and timelines for new configurations or alterations to existing spaces.
  • Coordinate with clients and other departments regarding work execution schedules.
  • Work closely with the Space Management Program Manager and ensure alignment with other program leads within the Infrastructure Planning Division, including Real Property Management, Leasing, and Campus Master Planning.
  • Develop solutions to various challenges based on established policies or previous practices.
  • Ensure that changes to space configurations are communicated to Drafting for updates to floor plans and iMap.
  • Complete and maintain the necessary qualifications and training for assigned tasks.
Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with two years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree.
  • Proficient in collecting accurate room measurements and furniture layouts, with the ability to create representative sketches using Visio or AutoCAD.
  • Experience with Excel, including basic formulas, and knowledge of developing general cost estimates.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • The salary range for this position is: Level 2 ($54,876 - $107,064) / Level 3 ($63,528 - $130,284). Compensation is determined based on education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
