Position Title: Social Services Caseworker II

Reports to: Social Services Program Manager

Salary Grade: $21.65 (G15-2)

Status: Regular, Full-Time (Nonexempt)

Location: Human Services Department


Position Summary:

The Social Services Caseworker II plays a crucial role in delivering client-centered services and effective case management. Under the supervision of the Social Services Program Manager, this position involves engaging with clients to collect essential financial and demographic data, evaluating client circumstances to formulate, execute, and assess service plans, and facilitating referrals to community resources.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Uphold the core mission, vision, and values of the Winnebago Tribe.
  • Conduct comprehensive interviews with clients to gather necessary information.
  • Verify client data and maintain accurate and current case files.
  • Evaluate client applications to determine eligibility for services.
  • Develop individualized service plans based on client assessments.
  • Assist clients in managing their Individual Indian Money (IIM) Accounts.
  • Document all client interactions and case activities thoroughly.
  • Perform home visits as required to support client needs.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding updates and changes.
  • Ensure timely processing of all services and applications.
  • Input client data into the Data Bank (TAS) system accurately and promptly.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with community resources for client referrals.
  • Collaborate with tribal and state agencies to verify services received by clients.
  • Advocate for clients to access available community services.
  • Build supportive relationships with clients and their families to enhance self-sufficiency.
  • Administer or refer clients for random drug testing as necessary.
  • Provide ongoing support to clients as needed.
  • Complete all required reports in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of client programming.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services-related field with at least one year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working with Native American communities is preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Dependable and professional demeanor.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards.
  • Valid driver's license and insurability under the Tribe's insurance policy.
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
  • Ability to perform office tasks, including lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Regularly required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods.
  • Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Language Proficiency:
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required.
