Position Summary
Reports to: Food Distribution Director

Salary (Grade):$19.65 (G14-1)

Status: Regular Full-time (Non-Exempt)

Location: Food Distribution Program

Role Purpose
The Nutrition Program Coordinator is tasked with the design and execution of nutrition education initiatives in various formats, including cooking workshops, food preparation guidance, label reading, basic cooking skills, recipe adaptations, cooking demonstrations, and the creation of promotional materials such as flyers and videos aimed at both potential and existing households.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Exemplifies the core mission, vision, and values of the Winnebago Tribe.
  • Possesses knowledge of the Food Distribution Program and its Nutrition Education component.
  • Organizes and delivers engaging nutrition education sessions.
  • Oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of all nutrition education events.
  • Prepares and presents recipes for food sampling.
  • Develops a timeline for monthly calendars, newsletters, and promotional materials related to nutrition education.
  • Submits monthly reports detailing nutrition education activities, attendance, and program outcomes.
  • Assists in the annual budgeting process.
  • Ensures completion of planned nutrition education activities each month.
  • Creates short videos to promote nutrition education initiatives.
  • Maintains an inventory of kitchen appliances and equipment.
  • Places weekly or bi-weekly supply orders.
  • Provides support in all aspects of program operations as needed.
  • Collaborates effectively with clients, staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma with a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Food Safety Certification/ServSafe required.
  • One year of dietary experience in a clinical setting.
  • Three years of customer service experience.
Training:
  • As directed by management.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform medium office work, including lifting up to 15 lbs.
  • Regularly required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of hands for operating office equipment.
  • Regular communication through speaking and listening.
Mental Requirements:
  • Ability to read, write, and perform calculations.
  • Strong social interaction skills.
  • Effective reasoning and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Language Skills:
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English is required.
  • Must demonstrate professional communication skills consistently.
