Position Overview:

The HR Compliance Specialist, Lead is responsible for ensuring adherence to the company's human resource policies and regulatory standards. This role involves maintaining compliance with a variety of laws and regulations at the international, federal, state, and local levels, alongside internal policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the compliance of human resource policies and practices.
  • Advise management and staff on compliance-related issues, including Affirmative Action, recruitment, compensation, benefits, training, and employee relations.
  • Provide expert guidance to business units on compliance requirements, utilizing advanced principles and concepts.
  • Collaborate with various internal teams to enhance process efficiency and address complex compliance challenges.
  • Oversee the entire project lifecycle for compliance initiatives, from planning through execution and reporting.
  • Engage with stakeholders to establish project scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring effective communication of project status and risks.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify compliance vulnerabilities and develop strategies for mitigation.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a compliance role within a government contracting environment.
  • Proven track record in leading compliance initiatives related to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) regulations.
  • Experience managing the Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) process.
  • Strong background in implementing compliance processes across various legal frameworks.
  • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to monitor and adapt to changes in regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in conducting internal audits and managing compliance risks.
  • Strong analytical skills for legal and regulatory research.
  • Ability to interpret legal documents and communicate requirements effectively.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification is preferred.
