The Registered Nurse (RN) serves as a patient advocate and employs the nursing process to deliver care across all age groups throughout the health continuum.

This nursing process encompasses assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, all grounded in scientific, evidence-based knowledge.

The RN collaborates with patients, families, and the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care, striving for optimal outcomes while recognizing the vital role each participant plays in the care process.


The RN is well-versed in the professional scope of practice and adheres to the ANA nurse practice standards, fulfilling these obligations legally, professionally, and ethically.

The role of the RN is adaptable, making care decisions based on patient conditions and continuously reassessing and prioritizing according to individual needs.


Minimum Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.

Minimum Work Experience

Previous relevant nursing experience preferred.

Required Licenses/Certifications

Must be licensed in the State of Vermont.
BLS Certification from the American Heart Association.
Unit-specific certifications as necessary (ACLS, TNCC, PALS, ENPC) according to departmental operational guidelines.
Completion of approved patient/visitor de-escalation and restraint program certification based on unit-specific protocols.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Proven proficiency in acute-care nursing practices, along with relevant knowledge and skills.
Demonstrates a moderate level of basic computer proficiency.

Pay Range = $55.09
