Job Description

Northrop Grumman is a leading provider of advanced technology solutions for the defense and aerospace industries. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Survivability Engineer to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing advanced stealth technology solutions to reduce the detectability of aircraft in the electromagnetic, infrared, visual, and acoustic spectrums. This will involve the use of proprietary analysis codes and the development of physical models to verify predictions and optimize designs.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electromagnetics, aircraft survivability, and a comprehensive understanding of electromagnetic energy transmission through space and within materials. They will also have excellent interpersonal and technical writing skills to enable effective personal interaction and collaboration with a multi-disciplined team and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop advanced stealth technology solutions to reduce the detectability of aircraft in the electromagnetic, infrared, visual, and acoustic spectrums.
  • Use proprietary analysis codes to predict and optimize designs.
  • Develop physical models to verify predictions and optimize designs.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplined team and customers to achieve project goals.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and advancements in the field of electromagnetics and aircraft survivability.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline AND 8 years of related professional/military engineering experience, OR a Master's degree AND 6 years of related professional/military engineering experience, OR a Ph.D. AND 0 years of related professional/military engineering experience.
  • Active DoD Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR/SAP).
  • Strong background in electromagnetics, aircraft survivability, and a comprehensive understanding of electromagnetic energy transmission through space and within materials.
  • Excellent interpersonal and technical writing skills to enable effective personal interaction and collaboration with a multi-disciplined team and customers.
