**Job Summary**

The position of Mechanic is responsible for repairing and maintaining roofing and pavement patching equipment, as well as performing various showroom helper duties in a skilled manner within the required standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repairing equipment as needed to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Assembling new products that arrive unassembled to meet customer demands.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized showroom and mechanics bay to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
  • Providing assistance to customers with loading and unloading equipment, as well as performing janitorial duties as needed.
  • Notifying the Branch Lead of product shortages and overstocks to ensure timely restocking and inventory management.
  • Performing service calls at customer job sites as required to meet customer needs.
  • Operating a forklift to transport equipment and materials safely and efficiently.
  • Driving company trucks to make deliveries or pickup orders as needed to meet customer demands.
  • Performing other duties as assigned to support the team and meet business objectives.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three years related experience and/or training.
  • Experience in small engine repair, pneumatics, power tool repair, and a basic understanding of electrical, heat generating, and electronic equipment.
  • Welding experience is required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to operate a forklift, have a valid driver's license, and good driving record, as well as have own tools to use at work.

Language Skills:

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
