POSITION SUMMARY

The role of the Mechanic involves the maintenance and repair of small gas engines and related equipment, ensuring all tasks are performed efficiently and in accordance with company standards.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct repairs on equipment as necessary.
  • Assemble new machinery upon delivery.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the workshop and showroom areas.
  • Assist customers with loading and unloading equipment.
  • Support shipping, receiving, and inventory management tasks.
  • Perform cleaning duties as required.
  • Inform the Branch Lead of any inventory discrepancies.
  • Execute service calls at client locations as needed.
  • Operate forklifts safely and efficiently.
  • Drive company vehicles for deliveries and pickups as required.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma or GED is required, along with three years of relevant experience or training.

Experience should encompass small engine repair, pneumatic systems, power tool maintenance, and a fundamental understanding of electrical and electronic systems. Welding skills are essential.


LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY

Ability to read and understand basic instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Capable of writing simple correspondence.
Effective communication skills in one-on-one and small group settings with customers and colleagues are necessary. Spanish language skills are a plus but not mandatory.


MATH SKILLS

Proficiency in basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction of two-digit numbers, as well as multiplication and division with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these calculations using units of American currency and measurements of weight, volume, and distance.

Must be able to operate a forklift, possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, and have personal tools available for use on the job.
