Job Summary
You will have the opportunity to apply engineering principles to design and install distribution systems in a safe, efficient, and practical manner. You will manage projects during field installations and oversee the layout, sizing, and specification of pipeline equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform engineering design, calculations, estimates, studies, and coordination of gas distribution facilities installations.
- Analyze load, pressure requirements, future growth, and other variables during the design process.
- Oversee the layout, sizing, and specification of pipeline equipment, economic justifications, and indirect supervision of others when project teamwork is required.
- Create engineering drawings and effectively communicate design details to field personnel and contractors.
- Conduct distribution system pressure and cathodic protection studies.
- Maintain external contacts to ensure that materials, supplies, and information are available as needed.
- Prepare economic justification for each project proposed to assist management with evaluation of capital investment.
- Review completed work orders and cost data to ensure conformance with plans and acceptability of construction charges.
- Assist in evaluation of system operations and troubleshoot problems.
Requirements
- Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Civil, or other approved engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
