Job Summary

The Medical Receptionist is a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support in a fast-paced medical office environment.

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Medical Receptionist. In this role, you will be responsible for greeting patients, families, and visitors, and establishing a positive and welcoming encounter for each patient's visit.

As a Medical Receptionist, you will perform a variety of administrative tasks, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, registering patients, and handling billing and insurance-related tasks. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, and providing excellent customer service to patients and families.

Responsibilities
  • Greet patients, families, and visitors in a friendly and welcoming manner
  • Answer phones and respond to patient inquiries
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient schedules
  • Register patients and handle billing and insurance-related tasks
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and families
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • At least two years' experience in a medical office or one year of Cook Children's Physician Network medical office experience
  • Understanding of diversified insurance plans
  • Knowledge of coding and medical terminology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
