ROLE OVERVIEW: Point Quest is at the forefront of delivering high-quality speech and language services. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be instrumental in equipping students, families, and educational teams with the tools to enhance communication skills. Your expertise will be vital in supporting neurodivergent individuals and those facing challenges with receptive and expressive communication, as well as speech sound disorders. Your contributions will significantly improve the quality of life for these individuals by fostering effective communication and promoting independence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

THERAPY:
  • Design and implement tailored individual, group, and classroom-based therapeutic interventions aligned with speech and language objectives outlined in Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Assess the effectiveness of therapy interventions and monitor student progress to determine readiness for service termination.
ASSESSMENT:
  • Conduct thorough evaluations to identify students with speech or language disorders and determine their eligibility for services.
  • Develop clinical strategies and diagnostic statements based on data interpretation and observations.
CONSULTATION:
  • Engage and coach caregivers throughout the evaluation process.
  • Collaborate with educators and interdisciplinary team members to enhance classroom activities aimed at improving communication skills.
  • Provide professional development to school staff to help them recognize and address communication deficits in students.
  • Participate in team meetings and in-service training.
  • Effectively communicate with colleagues, students, and parents regarding therapy goals and educational needs.
  • Contribute to the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process by interpreting assessment data and assisting in goal setting for students with communication challenges.
STUDENT & CASE MANAGEMENT:
  • Foster a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
  • Prepare and maintain all necessary documentation, including evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes, in accordance with company policies.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records.
  • Adapt educational materials to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Collect and analyze data on student achievements to inform progress and reporting.
  • Manage both manual and electronic documentation to ensure compliance with mandated requirements.
  • Maintain and operate augmentative communication devices and software.
  • Research and implement resources to support students' functional goals.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Active Arizona license as a Speech Language Pathologist or eligibility for licensure.
  • Successful completion of background checks.
  • Proficient in standard software applications and internet use.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Dependable and adaptable.
