Job Summary

The Physician Assistant at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center provides direct diagnostic and therapeutic patient care under the supervision of physicians. The ideal candidate will be a Licensed Physician Assistant with prior PA experience in Surgery or Urology.

Key Responsibilities

Obtains medical history and performs physical exams on patients.
Interprets diagnostic tests and radiographic results, and develops management plans for patients in concert with faculty physicians.
Takes responsibility for patient assessment, triage, and therapeutic management of patient needs as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team.
Documents in chart for all patients seen.

Working Conditions

This position requires working in an office environment and patient care unit, with exposure to human/animal blood, body fluids, or tissues.

Education and Experience

Required: Graduate of a Physician Assistant training program approved by the Council of Medical Education of the American Medical Association. PA certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants, and licensed by the Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification (CPR), Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) OR Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
