Job Summary

The MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team in the outpatient clinic setting. As a Physician Assistant, you will assist supervising physicians in providing direct diagnostic and therapeutic patient care. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to provide patient-centered care that is effective, timely, efficient, and equitable.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain medical history and perform physical exams on patients
• Interpret diagnostic tests and radiographic results, and develop management plans in concert with faculty physicians
• Take responsibility for patient assessment, triage, and therapeutic management of patient needs as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team
• Document patient information in charts

Requirements

• Graduate of a Physician Assistant training program approved by the Council of Medical Education of the American Medical Association
• PA certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants
• Licensed by the Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification (CPR), Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) OR Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Working Conditions

This position requires working in an office environment and patient care unit. You will be exposed to human/animal blood, body fluids, or tissues. You will not be exposed to harmful chemicals, radiation, or animals.

Education and Experience

• Graduate of a Physician Assistant training program approved by the Council of Medical Education of the American Medical Association
• PA certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants
• Licensed by the Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification (CPR), Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) OR Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
