Job Summary:

The County of Chester is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Customer Service Representative in the Assessment Department. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional customer service, handle incoming phone calls and walk-ins, and assist customers with using our assessment applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service to the public, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Handle incoming phone calls and walk-ins, directing customers to the appropriate resources and providing information as needed.
  • Assist customers with using our assessment applications, ensuring they have a positive experience and receive the support they need.
  • Perform data entry and other clerical duties, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve departmental goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred.
  • Minimum one year of general office experience, with a focus on customer service and data entry.
  • Intermediate skills in using a personal computer and various software packages, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Strong typing skills (minimum 50 wpm) and ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in office administration or a related field.
  • Experience working in a customer-facing role, with a focus on providing exceptional service.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
