Job Overview

The Machinery Operations Specialist at Tate Inc. plays a crucial role in the efficient functioning of our production processes. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of all machinery and equipment within the department, as well as the capability to mentor fellow team members on operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acquire and demonstrate a thorough understanding of all machinery and equipment utilized in the department.
  • Effectively set up, adjust, and operate all equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Identify and resolve minor issues with machinery and equipment as they arise.
  • Conduct routine adjustments and preventative maintenance on machinery to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Accurately complete production reports and quality documentation as necessary.
  • Assist with additional tasks as assigned by the Team Leader or Supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to established safety protocols.
  • Provide training to team members on all operational aspects of the department.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and work instructions, including the Employee Handbook and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Stay vigilant regarding the quality, safety, environmental, and compliance standards; promptly report any quality concerns or unsafe conditions to the appropriate personnel.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow both oral and written instructions.
  • Capable of working collaboratively in a team-oriented environment with a diverse workforce.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly without assistance for an 8-hour shift.
  • Proficient in using various tools and measuring devices, including calipers, micrometers, tape measures, dial indicators, and feeler gauges.
  • Able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and crouch for an entire 8-hour shift.
  • Must possess dexterity to handle machinery, equipment, or parts and work safely around moving mechanical components.
  • Ability to maintain physical activity, including standing and/or walking, bending, stooping, or crouching for at least an 8-hour shift.
