Core Responsibilities

The Laser Cutting Technician is responsible for the safe operation of laser cutting equipment for a diverse range of manufacturing products. This role also involves collaboration in design and production discussions, fostering effective teamwork across various departments including manufacturing, quality assurance, and management.

Key Duties

  • Operate, program, and troubleshoot tube laser machinery.
  • Conduct initial inspections and document part dimensions according to engineering specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery as required.
  • Support the company's quality initiatives and assist in scheduling to maximize machine efficiency.
  • Identify and report defective materials or potential issues to the Team Leader or Supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to established safety protocols.
  • Comply with all policies, procedures, and operational guidelines, including the Employee Handbook and Safety Manual.
  • Stay aware of personal contributions to quality, safety, and compliance policies; report any quality concerns or unsafe conditions to appropriate personnel.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 3 years of experience in operating, programming, or maintaining laser machinery.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow both oral and written instructions.
  • Capable of working collaboratively in a diverse team setting.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
  • Proficient in using various tools and measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
  • Able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and crouch for an 8-hour shift.
  • Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle machinery and work near moving mechanical parts.
