Job Summary

Tate, Inc. is a leading provider of innovative raised access flooring, structural ceilings, and modular prefabricated aisle containment systems. We are seeking a skilled Welder (Cobot Assisted) to join our team at our new manufacturing facility in Russell County, Virginia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Select and prepare metals to specifications for cutting, joining, and assembly.
  • Interpret specifications and blueprints accurately to ensure safe and effective assemblage.
  • Clean and inspect welding equipment and tools regularly.
  • Determine correct gas ratios and test the strength of joins during and after project completion.
  • Diagnose issues and troubleshoot as required.
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to Supervisor or Manager.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and follow established safety procedures.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned or directed by Supervisor as production needs require.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent experience.
  • AWS Certification required.
  • 2+ years' experience in structural welding.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Detail oriented, efficient, and able to work under minimal supervision and guidance.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions when furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Computer literate.
  • Able to work in a team environment and interface with a diverse workforce.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Ability to use various tools and measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measure, dial indicator, and feeler gauges.
  • Able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and crouch for an 8-hour shift.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel machinery, equipment or parts and work near moving mechanical parts.
Working Conditions

The Welder (Cobot Assisted) will work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to various machinery, equipment, and materials. The ability to work in a team environment and interface with a diverse workforce is essential.
