Job Summary

Tate, Inc. is seeking a skilled Quality Technician 1 to join our team in a new manufacturing facility in Russell County, Virginia. As a Quality Technician 1, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our products and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Control: Conduct routine and job-specific load performance tests to ensure compliance with published specifications.
  • Test Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all test equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Product Qualification: Perform testing needed for qualifications of new or revised products.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain updated certified testing reports on standard products.
  • Continuous Improvement: Assist with continuous improvement of product and manufacturing processes to improve quality, reduce costs, and ensure product quality objectives are met.
  • Site Visits: Visit job sites to identify problems and recommend solutions as assigned by supervisor.
  • Housekeeping and Safety: Maintain good housekeeping and follow established safety procedures.
  • Compliance: Follow all policies, procedures, and work instructions, including Employee Handbook, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Manufacturing Operating Procedures (MOPs), Job Safety Analysis (JSAs), and Safety Manual.
Requirements
  • Lifting and Mobility: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop or crouch for at least an 8-hour shift.
  • Computer Literacy: Must be computer literate, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Products.
  • Tool Proficiency: Ability to use various tools and measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, dial indicators, feeler gauges, etc. and verify all test equipment is in calibration and maintained in good working order.
  • Manufacturing Experience: Three (3) plus years manufacturing experience.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Detailed oriented.
