Job Title: Human Resources Manager

At Great Wolf Lodge, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team. This is a critical role that will be responsible for executing HR strategy to support and grow our Pack.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies to drive business success and support achievement of Great Wolf Lodge business goals.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance in day-to-day recruiting, including overseeing recruitment and hiring of supervisor and manager positions.
  • Effectively assess and prioritize staffing needs, develop and drive strategy to improve staffing levels, and understand labor model to activate recruiting and staffing strategies.
  • Plan effectively for hiring needs based on forecast, turnover, and current staffing levels, and manage and run full scope of performance management, including goal setting, coaching, and performance management.
  • Conduct investigations as assigned, present findings, and recommend outcomes, and conduct training to effectively onboard new Pack and new leaders.
  • Support Pack Member development by offering coaching and guidance around career paths, and perform gap analysis against competency models and work with leaders to develop their Pack for career growth and succession.
  • Oversee leave administration, payroll administration, including oversight to tenure increase process and other reporting as assigned by HR Director, and handle day-to-day benefits questions and help lead annual Open Enrollment process.
  • Oversee workers compensation claims, working with both the insurance company and with the injured employee, and lead employee recognition and Pack culture through event planning, constant reinforcement, and marketing of recognition program.
  • Communicate information and ideas clearly, confidently, and articulately both in oral and written form, and provide feedback that supports Pack member's growth, development, and engagement.
  • Assist in building bridges between departments, leaders, and Pack Members across the lodge, and follow all federal and state employment law in decision-making process and escalate areas of risk or potential liability.
  • Work to stay up to date on federal and state law changes and demonstrate a working knowledge of basic law as it pertains to worker's comp, payroll, hiring, termination, and other employment-related decisions.
  • Provide administrative support as needed for operations, including payroll, time and attendance, inventory, ordering, and other data input, and maintain confidentiality and protect operations by keeping human resource information confidential.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year previous HR experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Successful completion of criminal background check and drug screen.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, attention to detail, enthusiastic and positive energy, and multi-tasking ability.
  • Previous experience in hotel/resort/theme park industry, Human Resources certification or other specialized training, and ability to lift up to 20 lbs, bend, stretch, and twist, and stand or sit for long periods of time.
