Position Overview: We are in search of a motivated and seasoned Vice President of Business Development to spearhead our strategic growth efforts within the CGT sector. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of the biotech and pharmaceutical landscapes, along with a successful history of driving business development and forging strategic alliances. This role is crucial for enhancing our market footprint, strengthening client relationships, and meeting our revenue objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Formulate and implement a detailed business development strategy aimed at fostering growth in the CGT sector, in alignment with the company's overarching goals.
  • Market Analysis: Perform comprehensive market research and competitive assessments to uncover emerging trends, opportunities, and potential clientele.
  • Client Acquisition: Identify, engage, and secure new business prospects with biotech and pharmaceutical firms. Build and sustain robust relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Partnership Development: Forge strategic partnerships and collaborations to augment our service offerings and broaden our market reach.
  • Revenue Growth: Propel revenue enhancement by crafting and executing strategies to boost market share and expand our client base.
  • Team Leadership: Guide, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing business development team. Promote a collaborative and results-oriented culture.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal teams, including marketing, operations, and R&D, to ensure alignment and effective execution of business development initiatives.
  • Brand Ambassador: Represent the organization at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events. Advocate for our capabilities and thought leadership in the CGT domain.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations for significant contracts, ensuring favorable terms and conditions that align with company objectives.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Monitor and report on key performance indicators, providing insights and recommendations to the executive team.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, life sciences, or a related discipline. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • Experience: At least 10 years of experience in business development within the biotech, pharmaceutical, or CDMO sectors, with a focus on cell and gene therapy.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership experience with a history of building and managing high-performing teams.
  • Industry Knowledge: Profound understanding of the CGT landscape, including regulatory requirements, market dynamics, and technological advancements.
  • Skills: Exceptional strategic planning, analytical, and negotiation skills. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Network: Established network of contacts within the biotech and pharmaceutical industries.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel as necessary to engage with clients, partners, and attend industry events.
